At BatesFast, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.

## 1. Document Privacy & Client-Side Processing

BatesFast processes document content locally in your browser:

- **We do not upload your documents to our servers.** Bates numbering and stamping run on your device.
- **We do not have access to your files.** Document content is not sent to our servers for stamping. Local recovery copies can be stored in your browser as described below.
- Closing the browser tab does not erase locally stored recovery data. The last finished production and original files for the most recent run are saved in IndexedDB, a browser database. These recovery stores do not have an automatic time-based expiry. A later saved run replaces the corresponding recovery copy.

If you save productions to local history, that history is limited to 25 jobs and a 500 MB soft storage budget. Entries older than 30 days are removed when history is listed or a job is saved; storage pressure may remove older entries sooner. Deleting a history entry does not clear the separate last-production or original-file recovery copies.

The free production’s seven-day download permission is an access window, not a promise to erase local data after seven days. To remove browser recovery data, clear BatesFast site data in your browser settings. This also removes local settings and may sign you out; it does not delete files you downloaded elsewhere. On shared devices, do not rely on closing the tab or signing out to remove document copies. Browser storage may also be cleared or evicted, so keep required outputs in your own approved storage.

## 2. Data We Collect

While we do not see your documents, we do collect some standard operational data:

- **Account Information:** If you sign in or purchase a license, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details via Google Authentication or Firebase.
- **Analytics:** We use basic analytics tools (including Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and PostHog) to understand how visitors interact with our marketing pages and app interfaces. This includes page views, browser type, and interaction events.
- **Payment Information:** All payments are processed securely by our designated payment processor. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.

## 3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

- Provide, maintain, and improve the BatesFast service.
- Process transactions and send related information, including confirmations and receipts.
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests.
- Send administrative messages, security alerts, and technical notices.

## 4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your account information. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
