The practical details
A few useful answers.
Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. The PDF page counter reads the selected files in your browser. PDF contents, file names and page counts are not sent as tool analytics. Refreshing or leaving the page clears the results.
Can I count pages in several PDFs at once?
Yes. Choose up to 200 PDFs at a time, up to 250 MB each. You will see a page count for each readable PDF plus a combined total. Selecting another group of files replaces the current list.
Do blank pages and cover sheets count?
Yes. The counter reports the pages contained in each PDF, including blank pages, covers and scanned image pages. It does not use printed page numbers or PDF page labels.
What if a PDF is password-protected or damaged?
The tool marks that file with an error and continues with the remaining files. Password-protected PDFs need an unlocked copy. For a damaged or unsupported file, try saving a fresh PDF copy in a PDF editor.
Can these counts become a Bates numbering plan?
Yes. Select Plan Bates ranges after counting. The readable documents and page counts populate a calculator on this page, where you can reorder documents and set a prefix, suffix, starting number and digit padding.
